Job summary

GXO is seeking a Drivers Mate to join the Store to Home team in Bristol for a full-time, permanent role, Tue–Sat starting at 06:00, 48 hours per week. You will work in a two-person delivery team, assisting with loading/unloading and ensuring goods arrive in excellent condition.

The role offers hourly pay of £12.71 (£31,724.16 annually), holiday pay, a workplace pension, and extensive training opportunities. Applicants should be willing to commute to Bristol for shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-drop home delivery is helpful but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal customer service skills.
• Willingness to perform manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing.
• Positive attitude with a knack for solving problems.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment DBS check.
• Prepared to commute to Bristol (BS37 5QR) for the required shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a two-person team delivering products to customer premises.
• Assist the delivery driver with parking, manoeuvring, and loading/unloading of vehicles.
• Provide excellent customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in good condition.
• Keep customers informed of estimated delivery times and communicate any issues politely.

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Store to Home team in Bristol (BS37 5QR).

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Tuesday to Saturday, with a start time at 06:00. The role is contracted to 48 hours per week.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Work as a part of two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice)
• Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
• Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
• Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing
• Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
• Be prepared to commute to Bristol (BS37 5QR) for the required shift pattern
