Job summary

First Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Driver Training Manager to lead and develop our driver training function, delivering a high-quality programme that creates safe, professional and customer-focused drivers across the business.

You will manage Driving Instructors, Training Officers and Training Coordinators to shape strategy, improve driving standards and ensure a continuous pipeline of skilled drivers to support operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a training, learning & development or operational training role.
• Strong people management and coaching ability.
• Experience designing and delivering training programmes.
• Excellent planning, organisation and resource management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Driver Training team to deliver high performance and training outcomes.
• Develop and implement a driver training strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee induction, CPC, theory testing, practical training and customer service programmes.
• Plan and allocate training resources, vehicles and facilities.
• Ensure training activities meet quality and regulatory standards.
