About the role

As a Driver Trainee Installer, you will be supported through our 12-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer with a C1 driving licence. Once you're fully trained, you'll have the opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to our customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew. Due to the nature of the role, you need to be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

• Start your day at the delivery hub before heading out on route.
• Represent the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service as your priority.
• Assist in loading the delivery vehicle with the day's items, working with the warehouse team.
• Show respect and courtesy for customers' homes and handle unexpected situations professionally.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use to customers.
• Stay updated on new products and technologies to perform your role effectively.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Essential skills/experience

• UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, both over the phone and face-to-face.
• Ability to handle the physical demands of the role, including delivering large items.
• Passion for technology and installation.

Desirable skills/experience

• Previous installation and delivery driving experience.
