Job summary

Veolia in Gerrards Cross is hiring a driver to join our team. You will drive to planned collection locations, move and empty waste containers, and perform daily vehicle checks. You will input data into the onboard system and manage paperwork daily, while complying with traffic laws and keeping the area clean.

The role is 48 hours per week with early starts (02:00–04:00). Occasional Saturday work is possible, and we offer generous benefits including leave and pensions.

Qualifications

• Hold a Class 2 (Cat C) licence with up-to-date CPC and Digi/Tachograph Card.
• Desirable experience in waste management or RoRo, Skip and Dustcart would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and empty multiple waste containers.
• Lift bins of various weights and sizes.
• Perform daily vehicle checks per driver operator handbook.
• Record all information in onboard system and submit paperwork daily.
• Comply with traffic laws and regulations including load security.
• Keep carriageway clean and promptly clean up spillages.

Salary

£43,023.22 per annum plus Veolia benefits - Paid weekly

£5.00 daily meal allowance

Enhanced allowances are available for night shifts and single person routes where eligibility criteria are met

Hours

48 Hours per week. Varied start times between 02:00 - 04:00 am. Finishing times may vary on occasion, so some flexibility is required. Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work required.

What you'll be doing

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving and emptying multiple waste containers
• Lifting bins of all weights and sizes
• Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
• Ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including security and weight of loads
• Ensuring that the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up

What we're looking for

Essential

• Class 2 (Cat C) licence
• Up to date CPC
• Digi / Tachograph Card

Desirable

• Roro, Skip and Dustcart experience would be a distinct advantage
• Experience in Waste Management
