Job summary

Veolia UK is seeking a driver to support its growing UK fleet in Tyseley. The role involves nights, 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 02:45 with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break, delivering essential waste services to local communities.

The position offers up to £50,031.02 per annum plus Veolia benefits and a full range of training and development opportunities within a supportive, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Cat C+E (Class 1) licence required.
• Driver CPC/DIGI card held and up to date.
• Knowledge of local geography is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and load waste into walking floor trailer.
• Ensure vehicle is safely loaded, operated and driven at all times while collecting, transporting or tipping waste.
• Carry out daily pre-use vehicle checks and report defects.
• Comply with traffic laws and keep work environment safe and clean.
• Complete all scheduled work and ensure compliance.

What you'll be doing

With one of the largest growing fleets in the UK, our drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services. They work hard to serve their local communities and make a positive impact every day.

• Driving to planned collections locations and loading waste into a walking floor trailer
• Ensure the vehicle is safely and properly loaded, operated and driven at all times while collecting, transporting or tipping waste.
• Undertake daily pre-use vehicle checks, reporting any defects to the transport office
• Comply with all traffic laws and legislation and ensure their work environment is safe and clean at all times
• Ensure all scheduled work is completed and compliant

What are we looking for

Cat C+E (Class 1) licence and previous driving experience

Driver CP/ DIGI card

Desirable

• Local geographical knowledge, including experience of driving in the area
• Experience in transport of waste and use of walking floor trailers
