Job summary

VeoliaTyseley, Birmingham is seeking a Class 1 driver to join our waste transport team. You will drive to planned collection locations, load waste into a walking floor trailer, and ensure the vehicle is safely loaded, operated and driven at all times while collecting, transporting or tipping waste.

You’ll undertake daily pre-use vehicle checks, report defects, and comply with traffic laws. We offer 28 days leave, pension, driver medicals and ongoing training in a supportive, inclusive

Qualifications

• Cat C+E (Class 1) licence held for driving waste transport.
• Driver CPC/DIGI card.
• Previous driving experience in similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collections locations and load waste into a walking floor trailer.
• Ensure the vehicle is safely and properly loaded, operated and driven at all times while collecting, transporting or tipping waste.
• Undertake daily pre-use vehicle checks, reporting any defects to the transport office.
• Comply with all traffic laws and legislation and ensure their work environment is safe and clean at all times.
• Ensure all scheduled work is completed and compliant.

Salary: up to £50,031.02 per annum plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Nights 18:00pm - 02:45am (45 minute unpaid lunch break)

Location: Tyseley, Castle Bromwich, B35 7AG

What are we looking for?

• Local geographical knowledge, including experience of driving in the area
• Experience in transport of waste and use of walking floor trailers
