Job summary

SUEZ is recruiting an HGV Class 2 Driver Loader for the Bridgwater area, offering a 40-hour week and a £5,000 welcome bonus. You will drive and assist with loading up to 150+ tasks daily, contributing to reliable waste collections for local residents.

The role requires Class 2 licence, CPC and Tachograph card, with full training provided if needed. Local depot-based work with weekend shifts after bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence and CPC required.
• Tachograph card required.
• Newly qualified drivers welcome.
• Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
• Team player with a good work ethic.
• Waste/RCV experience is advantageous but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive the vehicle and assist with loading of household waste and recycling as part of a team.

Join SUEZ and play a key role in delivering essential waste and recycling services across Bridgwater. This role requires you to regularly get out of the vehicle and support with loading up to 150 times or more each day, making a real impact in your local community every day.

About The Role

• You will be based at our Bridgwater Depot, Unit 15, Parrett Way, Bridgwater, Somerset
• The contracted hours are 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 06:15 - 14:45
• £5000 welcome bonus (subject to T&C's)
• You will be earning a salary of £36,733.94
• You’ll be required to work the Saturday following bank holiday
• Overtime will be required on a regular basis at an enhanced rate

About The Role

What will I be doing?

• You will be responsible for both driving the vehicle and supporting with the loading of household waste and recycling, working as part of a team to complete daily collections efficiently.
• Delivering a reliable, high-quality service to residents
• Always working to strict health & safety standards
• You’ll primarily operate RCVs (Refuse Collection Vehicles) + Recycling Vehicles as required giving you variety in your day‑to‑day work.

What are the requirements?

• Class 2 (Category C) licence, valid CPC card and Tachograph card
• Newly qualified drivers welcome, as well as experienced drivers
• A reliable, safety-focused attitude with good communication skills
• A team player with a strong work ethic
• Waste or RCV experience is advantageous but not essential as full training is provided.
