Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a Regional HGV Driver to transport plant and equipment across the assigned region from a home depot. You will cover for gaps and train other drivers in safe loading and unloading, with training provided and NPORS certification earned.

The role requires Class 2 licence, Driver CPC and Tachograph knowledge, with strong safety and customer service focus. You will stay away from home when covering remote areas and receive a company vehicle and fuel card.

Qualifications

• Significant experience driving, loading, delivering and collecting plant equipment at customer sites.
• Strong customer service skills with attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety guidelines and compliance.

The Role:

Our nationwide Non-Mechanical division hires a range of equipment including crowd control barriers, security fencing, trench boxes, magnetic rail barriers and road plates to companies within a wide range of sectors.

The Regional HGV Driver is responsible for transporting our plant and equipment quickly and efficiently around their assigned region. Based out of a home depot you will travel throughout the region covering for sickness and holidays, or where additional resource is required. You will also be responsible for training existing HGV Drivers on safe loading and unloading of vehicles – training will be provided by RoSPA and you will receive an NPORS qualification in loading and unloading

As the role provides support across a region you will be provided with a company vehicle and fuel card and will be required to stay away from home if covering in remote areas.

About You

Applicants applying for the role of Regional HGV Driver should have/be:

• Significant experience working within an HGV driving role loading, delivering and collecting plant equipment from customer sites is essential
• Class 2 driving licence, Driver CPC with a minimum of 35 hours completed and valid Digital Tachograph card
• An understanding of Health & Safety protocols and the ability to follow these guidelines in the workplace
• Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
