Job summary

GAP Group Limited is seeking a Regional HGV Driver to transport our plant and equipment across the region from a home depot. You will cover for sickness and holidays and may stay away from home for remote coverage.

Training will be provided by RoSPA and NPORS qualification will be awarded. The role requires loading, delivering and collecting plant equipment at customer sites, with a Class 2 licence and Driver CPC.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in HGV driving loading, delivering and collecting plant equipment.
• Class 2 licence, Driver CPC (35h) and valid Tachograph card.
• Health & Safety awareness and ability to follow guidelines.
• Excellent customer service and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Transport plant and equipment around the assigned region quickly and efficiently.
• Based from a home depot; cover sickness/holidays and remote expansions.
• Train existing HGV drivers on safe loading/unloading; RoSPA training and NPORS qualification provided.

About the role

The Role: Our nationwide Non-Mechanical division hires a range of equipment including crowd control barriers, security fencing, trench boxes, magnetic rail barriers and road plates to companies within a wide range of sectors. The Regional HGV Driver is responsible for transporting our plant and equipment quickly and efficiently around their assigned region. Based out of a home depot you will travel throughout the region covering for sickness and holidays, or where additional resource is required. You will also be responsible for training existing HGV Drivers on safe loading and unloading of vehicles – training will be provided by RoSPA and you will receive an NPORS qualification in loading and unloading.

As the role provides support across a region you will be provided with a company vehicle and fuel card and will be required to stay away from home if covering in remote areas.

About You

• Significant experience working within an HGV driving role loading, delivering and collecting plant equipment from customer sites is essential
• Class 2 driving licence, Driver CPC with a minimum of 35 hours completed and valid Digital Tachograph card
• An understanding of Health & Safety protocols and the ability to follow these guidelines in the workplace
• Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
