Job summary
Govia Thameslink Railway is recruiting a Competency Development Manager (Driver) for Brighton Train Crew Depot. The role targets qualified drivers with at least four years on the mainline, responsible for developing and assessing peers, ensuring safe performance, and managing competency cycles.
You will travel between locations with no on-call commitment, supporting a team of drivers while working under the Regional Competency Manager. A1 assessor qualification is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Minimum of four years' driving experience on the mainline railway network.
- Strong safety record and suitability determined by Head of Operational Standards.
- Knowledge of Electrostar fleets and valid route competency on the Southern network is advantageous.
- Existing competency as an A1 assessor is advantageous, training may be provided.
Responsibilities
- Create development plans for drivers needing additional support.
- Undertake competency investigations following operational incidents.
- Assess and prioritise driver development to maximise safe, engaged drivers.
- Plan and manage time to support a diverse workforce within the depot.
