Job summary

DHL in Totton, Hampshire, is seeking an HGV Class 1 Dray Driver for a customer-facing role with a strong social element.

You will start early (04:00) and complete 10–12 drops a day, delivering alcoholic products to pubs, restaurants and hotels, with a Driver's Mate to assist with unloads and PODs.

A valid HGV Class 1 licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card, and no more than six penalty points are essential; this is a permanent, full-time position with competitive benefits.

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence – Essential.
• Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph Card – Essential.
• No more than 6 penalty points – Essential.
• Multi-drop HGV driving experience – Desirable.
• Dray or similar delivery experience – Desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver alcohol to pubs, restaurants, and hotels.
• Complete 10–12 drops per day on average.
• Handle up to 11 tonnes of stock daily.
• Drive safely and in line with Hours/Working Time directives.
• Maintain Health & Safety and road regulations.
• Work with Driver's Mate to unload and manage PODs.

Shift patterns: Monday to Friday (04:00 - 06:00) 4 Compulsory Saturdays Per Year, 45hr working week

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• Monday-Friday shift pattern with early starts (from 4:00am)
• 4 Saturdays per year required as part of the role
• Delivering alcoholic products to pubs, restaurants, and hotels
• Completing 10-12 drops per day (on average)
• Managing manual handling of up to 11 tonnes of stock daily
• Driving safely and efficiently, in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Maintaining strict compliance with Health & Safety, road safety laws, and vehicle regulations

Working alongside a Driver's Mate to:

• Support unloading
• Manage Proof of Deliveries (PODs)
• Keep the transport team updated
