Job summary

DHL is looking for a HGV Class 1 Dray Driver in Totton, Hampshire. This is a customer-facing role with a focus on service excellence while delivering to pubs, restaurants and hotels and building strong working relationships.

The position features early starts (4:00am), a Monday–Friday pattern with four compulsory Saturdays per year, and a 45-hour week. Training and benefits accompany a permanent, full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence required.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card required.
• No more than 6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Monday–Friday early starts from 04:00 with rotating Saturdays.
• Deliver alcoholic products to pubs, restaurants and hotels.
• Complete 10–12 drops per day and manage up to 11 tonnes daily.
• Unloading with Driver's Mate and managing PODs.
• Adhere to health & safety, road and vehicle regulations.

This is a customer-facing role with a great social element, perfect for someone who enjoys building relationships while delivering excellent service.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• Monday-Friday shift pattern with early starts (from 4:00am)
• 4 Saturdays per year required as part of the role
• Delivering alcoholic products to pubs, restaurants, and hotels
• Completing 10-12 drops per day (on average)
• Managing manual handling of up to 11 tonnes of stock daily
• Driving safely and efficiently, in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Maintaining strict compliance with Health & Safety, road safety laws, and vehicle regulations

Working alongside a Driver's Mate to:

• Support unloading
• Manage Proof of Deliveries (PODs)
• Keep the transport team updated
