Job description

HGV Class 1 Driver – ADR

Based at Cleland, this Driver Bulk ADR C+E YR1 post serves industrial and medical clients across North Lanarkshire.

Working full time on a temporary, ongoing contract through Pertemps on behalf of BOC, the successful candidate transports liquefied cryogenic gases using tankers and trailers.

Duties cover strict adherence to health and safety rules during hazardous discharge, pressure-regulated equipment handling, daily walk-around inspections, digital tachograph tracking and accurate log keeping. Occasional overnight stays and customer liaison form part of the job.

Applicants need a Category C+E licence with ADR certification.

Day shifts attract £19.30 hourly; night work pays £24.39. Minor vehicle repairs may also be required.

Role Responsibilities

• Bulk Delivery : Transporting and delivering high-risk liquefied cryogenic gases to industrial and medical clients.


• Safety Compliance : Operating strict health and safety protocols regarding the discharge of hazardous gas materials and dealing with pressure-regulated tankers.


• Vehicle Care : Conducting daily vehicle walk-around checks, tracking digital tachograph records, and keeping exact log details.

Key Requirements

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence held for at least 3 years


• Driver CPC (DQC)


• ADR Class 2 (Tanks)


• Tanker driving experience


• No more than 3 penalty points on licence


• Good knowledge of tachograph legislation and strong safety awareness.

Assessments

Candidates must complete a site driving assessment and an interview with the client prior to final placement. Full paid site-specific training is provided upon passing.
