Job summary

GI Group Main Account in Andover is seeking a capable Machine Operative to join a busy engineering/manufacturing site on a temp-to-perm basis. The role covers drilling holes into metal parts primarily for the automotive sector, with a Monday-Thursday 8-5 and Friday 8-2:30 schedule.

You will set and operate deep hole drilling machines, read engineering drawings, and ensure accurate, quality work with proper records and traceability. Apply with your CV or call 01256 810 400.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Warehouse/Production/Machine Operative.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work accurately.
• Proactive and motivated to build knowledge and skills in the sector.
• Good inspection/measuring skills and a quality-focused approach.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate deep hole drilling machines.
• Read and work from engineering drawings.
• Select required drill head and speed to perform the task and drill holes to size/depth.
• Prepare and secure workpieces to avoid misalignment.
• Maintain documentation including inspection records, scrap/rework reports and traceability.
