Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an Assistant Driller to join its cross-sector team on a permanent basis. You will support the lead driller across a variety of projects, using cable percussion, rotary boreholes or mini rigs, with outdoor work across multiple locations.

A geology background is preferred, along with CSCS certification, Level 2 NVQ in Land Drilling, a full driving licence (tow tow preferred), and strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in geology or a related field.
• Full driving licence with a licence to tow preferred.
• CSCS certification.
• Level 2 NVQ in Land Drilling.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Prepared to work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the drilling of cable percussive, rotary boreholes, or mini rig boreholes.
• Hand digging trial pits.
• Sampling and labelling of soil, rock, and groundwater samples.
• Driving a 4×4 vehicle and towing rigs/trailers.
• Working outdoors in various weather conditions across different locations.
• Following detailed specifications for site work.
• Maintaining effective communication with the lead driller, site engineers, and project managers.
• Contributing to the maintenance and development of management systems for drilling equipment and site operations.
