Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd. in Somerset is seeking a Tekla Detailer to take ownership of detailing projects from design through fabrication and to produce precise 3D models and fabrication drawings for manufacture.

You will collaborate with engineers, project managers and the shop floor to ensure drawings are accurate and ready for production, creating GA drawings and CNC data and reviewing information to improve buildability on varied steel packages.

Qualifications

• Experience using Tekla Structures within structural steel detailing.
• Ability to interpret structural and engineering drawings.

The Role

You'll take ownership of detailing projects from design through to fabrication, working with engineers, project managers and the shop floor to ensure every drawing is accurate, practical and ready for manufacture.

You'll:

• Produce detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures.


• Create GA drawings, assembly drawings and CNC data for manufacture.


• Review engineering information and resolve detailing queries.


• Work closely with fabrication, project management and design teams throughout each project.


• Identify practical solutions that improve buildability and fabrication efficiency.


• Support multiple structural steel projects from initial design through to final issue.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Experience using Tekla Structures within the structural steel industry.


• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and detailing.


• Ability to interpret structural and engineering drawings.


• Experience producing fabrication drawings and material schedules.


• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a project team.

Desirable

• Experience with commercial, industrial or infrastructure steelwork.


• Knowledge of connection detailing.


• Experience producing CNC data.


• Understanding of UK structural steel standards.
