Drama Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Location: Hornchurch, East London
Start Date: From May Half Term
Contract Type: Maternity Cover (Full-Time)
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

About the Role
Our client, a successful and well-regarded academy based in Hornchurch, is seeking a passionate and creative Drama Teacher to join their Performing Arts department on a maternity cover basis starting from May half term. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering dynamic and engaging Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will be working within a supportive department that values artistic expression, student voice, and inclusive performance opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who thrives on inspiring young people and bringing creativity into the classroom. Both ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.

Role Details

  • Deliver high-quality Drama lessons in line with national curriculum expectations

  • Plan, prepare, and assess students’ performance work and written tasks

  • Contribute to extracurricular and enrichment activities, including school productions

  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for all learners

  • Support the department during the maternity leave of a permanent staff member
