Job summary

Ipsum is seeking a Drainage Technician to join a 2nd member of a unit, visiting diverse client sites across the UK to carry out Asset Inspections and drainage work. You will work with engineers and your supervisor, while taking initiative on site.

The role requires flexibility for early starts, weekends and out-of-hours work, with a focus on safety, quality and reporting. Utilities knowledge is a bonus and customer service experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working in utilities or health and safety focused environments is a bonus.
• Flexibility to work 24/7 including early starts, weekends and out-of-hours across the UK.
• Customer service focus and professional team player attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate CCTV and jetting equipment daily as directed by site engineers and supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Adhere to company policies and report incidents promptly to your supervisor.
• Collaborate with engineers to complete on-site work and produce quality reports.
• Build good communication with clients and resolve issues quickly.
• Be flexible to support 24/7 operations across the UK.

About The Role…

Working as a 2nd member of a team on a Unit specific to your role, visiting all types of clients - commercial, residential, industrial, rail, road, utility, etc. -across the UK carrying out Asset Inspections. Teams generally consist of 2 members and you will be expected to follow instructions from the Engineer(s) on site as well as your Project Supervisor but also work under your own initiative where possible

As a Drainage Technician you will…

• Operating the following equipment day to day based on specific role:
  • CCTV Unit
  • HGV Jetting Unit
  • Jet Van
  • Survey/Asset Van
  • Patching or Lining Unit
  • Towing jetting equipment when required
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of Health and Safety, Quality and Environment
• Ensure Company policies are always adhered to.
• Ensure all site related incidents are reported to your Supervisor.
• Contribute and react swiftly to resolve problems before they escape.
• Work closely with associated Engineers, ensuring all aspects of work are completed on site.
• Contribute towards producing high quality results, reports and feedback.
• Always establish good relationships and communication and resolve issues and early resolution of any potential problems.
• You need to be flexible too: we operate 24/7 so there will be early starts, weekend working and an out-of-hours working across the UK.

Having utilities knowledge is a bonus, but working within a customer service or focused environment is essential along with having worked in a health and safety focused environment.
