Job summary

Ipsum is seeking a CCTV Drainage Engineer to operate from a custom-equipped CCTV van and travel across the UK. You will conduct CCTV surveys of drainage systems, assess pipe conditions, analyse results, and produce high-quality reports, sometimes using Jetting Units as needed.

You will lead site activities with safety and efficiency at the forefront, delivering work within required timescales. You will need a background in Utilities or Drainage, plus a full driving licence.

Qualifications

  • Experience or qualifications in the Utilities or Drainage industry.
  • Full, clean driving licence required.
  • OS19X (MSCC5 standards) and HGV qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage site staff and activities with Project Supervisor.
  • Ensure Health & Safety, Quality and Environment compliance.
  • Adhere to Company policies at all times.
  • Report all site incidents promptly.
  • Coordinate pre-site planning with Project Supervisor.
  • Identify and resolve problems swiftly.
  • Oversee Jetting & CCTV work on-site.
  • Produce high-quality reports and feedback.
  • Foster good communication and early issue resolution.
  • Be flexible for 24/7 operations, including early starts and weekend/out-of-hours work.

About The Role…

Working from one of our custom-equipped CCTV vans, you will visit all types of clients — commercial, residential, industrial, rail, road, utility, etc. —across the UK. You will carry out CCTV surveys of drainage systems, assess pipe conditions, analyse results, and produce high quality reports. All this in conjunction with our Jetting Units when required, therefore you will be responsible for all site activity ensuring the team are working safely and efficiently and ensuring that work is completed within the required timescale.

As a CCTV Drainage Engineer you will…
  • Day to day responsibility for site staff and all associated site activity in conjunction with Project Supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance of site staff with respect to Health and Safety, Quality and Environment
  • Ensure Company policies are always adhered to.
  • Ensure all site related incidents are reported.
  • Work closely with Project Supervisor to ensure work is pre-sited and pre-planned when required.
  • Identify and react swiftly to resolve problems before they scale.
  • Responsible for all Jetting & CCTV work completed on site.
  • Responsible for producing high quality results, reports, and feedback.
  • Always establish good relationships and communication and resolve issues and early resolution of any potential problems.
  • You need to be flexible too: we operate 24/7 so there will be early starts, weekend working and an out-of-hours working across the UK
About You…

You’ll have experience or qualifications in the Utilities or Drainage industry, along with a full, clean driving licence. Ideally, you’ll also bring relevant certifications such as OS19X (MSCC5 standards), plus HGV qualifications.
