Job summary

MTS Cleansing Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the drainage operations team at our Leicester site, driving performance, safety and client satisfaction. You will manage staffing, training and development, oversee budgets and resources, and coordinate with drivers, contractors and clients to meet SLAs and reporting requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, data analysis skills and a track record of improving operational performance

Qualifications

• CITB or IOSH Managing Safety certification required.
• SMSTS certification preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the drainage operations team, ensuring high standards of performance, safety and professionalism.
• Manage staffing, training, competency and ongoing development of team members.
• Support and motivate operational, transport and support staff, dealing with performance or employee issues alongside HR and senior management.
• Monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement and provide clear and accurate reports to management and clients.
• Lead regular operational review meetings with employees, contractors and clients.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety, quality, environmental and company standards.
• Promote a strong SHEQ culture across the operation, including completing regular safety tours and monitoring key SHEQ performance measures.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources and staffing effectively.
• Coordinate tanker and jetting vehicle movements during operational incidents, taking a lead role when additional support is required.
• Ensure client service levels and contractual requirements are consistently met, including response times, resolution times and reporting.
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, colleagues and other key stakeholders.
• Work closely with other managers to ensure operational plans support wider business objectives.
• Support the development and implementation of company policies, strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Keep up to date with industry best practice and identify opportunities to improve operational performance and service delivery.
• Provide timely updates and information to clients during operational incidents and briefings.
• Carry out management responsibilities in line with legal, ethical and company requirements.
