Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a site-based drainage operative to support United Utilities contracts across CCTV, jetting and civils teams. You will perform groundwork, install and maintain drainage systems, read drainage plans and carry out risk assessments with the team.

You will follow approved method statements, maintain equipment, complete site documentation on electronic tablets and adhere to health and safety regulations to protect colleagues and the public.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• NPORS qualification is desirable.
• NRSWA qualification is desirable.
• Slinger and Signaller qualification desirable.
• Emergency First Aid qualification beneficial.
• EUSR Water Hygiene preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain great customer service and communication
• Adhere to company absence reporting procedure
• Updating and completing site documentation using electronic tablet
• Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements and safe system of work
• Carry out site-specific risk assessments and discuss any changes with team and site supervisor
• Operate machinery and tools safely and efficiently to assist with various tasks
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
• Perform daily vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness
• Report issues or hazards per company procedures
• Ensure works align with approved method statements
• Maintain equipment and tools to keep them in good condition
• Be live on/off sites to avoid penalties with highways permits
• Wear and maintain PPE and report defects
• Carry out groundwork tasks such as digging trenches, laying pipes, spot repairs
• Install and maintain over-pumping systems
• Maintain safe excavations with ground support
• Read drainage plans
• Record photographic evidence of jobs
• Troubleshoot drainage system issues and provide solutions
