Job summary

Metro Rod Norwich is seeking a Reactive Drainage Engineer for full-time permanent employment. The role covers clearance, repair and maintenance of drainage systems, with CCTV surveys, patch lining and HPWJ work as part of a busy, on-call team. A strong customer-service focus and safety compliance are essential.

The package includes a salary of £30,000–£50,000 DOE, with on-call, overtime and benefits. Applicants should have drainage experience, CSCS and a full UK driving licence, and be prepared

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial and domestic drainage is essential.
• Experience in drain cleaning, drain repairs, patch lining.
• Drainage tickets including HPWJ, Confined spaces and CSCS.
• Experience with CCTV surveys and lining.
• Willing to work occasional / unsociable hours.
• Hold a full UK driving licence – must be over 25 for insurance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out a range of services for cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance of customers' drains.
• Operation of high-pressure water jetting equipment in line with safety standards.
• Carrying out surveys.
• Provide an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise.
• Accurately recording work/job details via internal/client systems and apps.
• Communicate with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre.
• Be part of an on-call rota to service clients 24/7 / 365 days a year.

What’s involved?

We are looking for someone who can do CCTV and coding, as well as patching & lining on top of the regular reactive duties:

• Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of our customers' drains
• Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with rigorous safety standards
• Carrying out surveys
• Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
• Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and apps
• Communicate effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is always provided
• Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year.

What do we look for?

Suitable candidates will be able to display a great working attitude together with skills pertaining to the clearance, cleaning and repair of both internal small bore and external drainage systems.

• Experience in commercial & domestic Drainage is essential

• Drainage tickets including HPWJ, Confined spaces and CSCS
• Have experience with CCTV Surveys and Lining
• Will have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude
