Job summary
Cranleigh STEM, in collaboration with HydRegen, is seeking a Downstream Processing Chemist to advance purification and product-recovery methods for scalable chemical manufacturing applications. The role involves developing efficient, industry-ready processes and collaborating with chemistry, biology and process engineering teams.
Ideal candidates have MSc or PhD exposure and practical experience in downstream processing and separation techniques, with a willingness to contribute to early-stage
Qualifications
- Background in Chemistry, Bioprocessing, Biochemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Practical experience with downstream processing, purification or product recovery.
- Academic research or MSc/PhD projects welcome.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise purification and downstream processing methods.
- Investigate techniques including filtration, extraction, evaporation and crystallisation.
- Improve product recovery, purity, yield and process efficiency.
- Design experiments to evaluate different purification approaches.
- Support development of processes suitable for larger-scale manufacturing.
