Job summary

Baker Hughes in Farnborough is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop next-generation downhole electronics for wireline operations. You will work at the intersection of hardware design, system integration, and field challenges, delivering robust solutions for harsh environments.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 2–5 years of experience, with opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to continuous improvement within a safety-focused energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical/electronics design and development.
• Experience with electronics design and development in harsh environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, integrate, and test downhole electrical systems with senior engineers.
• Develop electronic subsystems (telemetry, sensors, power modules) with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and perform root-cause investigations to improve tool reliability.
• Support testing, qualification, and validation, including procedures and results.
• Document, analyze, and report technical data to stakeholders.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines for system integration.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and technology development.
• Maintain engineering documentation per policies and standards.
• Support invention disclosures and IP documentation.
• Promote knowledge sharing and open technical dialogue.
