Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Dosimetry Controller for the Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, full-time, 35 hours per week on site, overseeing radiation dose monitoring programmes and dosimetry operations to support safety and national security objectives.

You will manage contracts and budgets, coordinate Radon monitoring, and work with a range of stakeholders to ensure ALARP practices and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in office administration and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience working with customers, stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Recent experience administering dosimetry programmes or services.
• Recent experience working within radiation protection or a related regulated environment.
• Experience managing contracts and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Devonport Site Dosimetry System in line with legislation, company requirements and industry best practice.
• Manage dosimetry-related contracts, budgets and associated records using company systems.
• Coordinate and monitor the site's Radon Monitoring Programme.
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Whole-Body Monitor, its operators and associated radioactive sources.
• Maintain dosimetry equipment and hardware assets, including the use of maintenance management systems.
