Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries straight to customers’ doors, delivering with energy, warmth and care. You’ll operate a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, carry out pre‑drive checks and follow planned routes to ensure timely, safe deliveries.

When not out delivering, you may help across the store. Applicants must be over 18, hold a full UK licence with ≤6 points, and pass the required safety assessments.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• Must pass an online driving risk assessment and a driving assessment on joining
• Must have Right to Work in the UK
• Sainsbury’s uses in-cab AI cameras to monitor driving and ensure safety

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, friendly and helpful
• Deliver groceries in a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van on time and in good condition
• Carry out van checks to ensure roadworthiness and secure customer shopping
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in various conditions
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver to different properties
• Communicate clearly with customers and handle delays or queries
• Assist in-store when not delivering
