Job summary

ABM UK in Durham, England, is seeking a professional Door Supervisor at Walkergate Shopping Centre. This relief role requires flexibility to cover shifts across evenings, nights and weekends, with patrols and strong customer service.

You will interact with visitors, monitor security, log incidents, liaise with control room, and maintain safety. Prior door supervisory experience preferred. ABM offers benefits including 24/7 GP access and employee perks.

Responsibilities

• Interact with visitors/tenants to deliver first-class service.
• Carry out regular patrols of the venues.
• Assist at bars and restaurants and help where opportunities arise.
• Sustain safe, non-threatening environments for visitors/tenants.
• Manage incidents in line with site policies and procedures.
• Liaise with the control room and brief colleagues.
• Report any unsecure areas to Control Room immediately.
• Log non-conformances and emergencies with control room.
• Respond to emergencies and keep the Centre team informed.
• Monitor behavior and report incidents per policies.
• Maintain security through radio procedures and notebook entries.
• Undertake other duties as required by the line manager.

SHIFT PATTERN: Relief role, shifts to include throughout the week and weekends 1715-0200,2000-0630,1530-0300

This important role is the public face of the Door Supervisory Team. A can-do and professional attitude is essential in this highly influential role. You also need to ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Readily interact with all visitors/tenants within the Venues, delivering first class customer focused service
• Carry out regular patrols of the Venues as detailed in the site assignment Instructions, being always proactive
• Continuously look for opportunities to be of assistance to visitors at the Bars and Restauraunts, proactively helping wherever opportunities arise
• Safeguard all the venues and Carparking areas are safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants.
• Ensuring all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedure
• Liaising with site control room proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and always supported
• Ensure any unsecure areas of the site are reported to Control Room immediately and action taken to resolve
• Record/log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives
• Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies ensuring the Centre team are kept fully always informed
• Intelligent understanding of human behaviour, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging, and reporting incidents in line with site/company polices
• Maintain vigilance and highlight/manage unauthorised access by banned individuals
• Ensure radio procedures are always adhered to
• Ensure all events/incidents are recorded in the Staff notebook correctly and notebook policies are always adhered to
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
• Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager
• Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events
• Complete all training requirements as requested by line manager
• Be available to cover at least one additional shift per month if requested to cover absence/annual leave
• Liaise closely with the Environmental Services team delivering one service and highlight opportunities in working as one team

Requirements

• Take ownership of all situations to ensure tasks are completed or escalated when necessary.
