Job summary

Specsavers is seeking a domiciliary optometrist to bring eye care directly to patients at home across Edinburgh and surrounding areas. You’ll assess vision, prescribe where appropriate, and support patients with basic tasks to enhance independence.

You’ll work with a supportive team, receive a company car or car allowance, a generous benefits package, 33 days of annual leave including bank holidays, and a £10,000 welcome bonus.

Qualifications

• GOC registered and eligible to practice in UK.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to patients' homes.
• Patient-focused and able to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Provide domiciliary eye care to patients in their homes across the territory.
• Conduct eye examinations, prescribe where appropriate, and advise on vision care.
• Maintain accurate records and coordinate with the Specsavers team for referrals.

You’ll be driving our services to the doorsteps of the nation, providing eye care to the people who aren’t able to come into our stores. But not only do you help them with their sight, you’ll be able to support them to get basic tasks done that they wouldn’t be able to do without you. Essentially, you’ll be bringing smiles and clinical care to the heart of your community.

Our business

Based on the east coast, covering areas such as Edinburgh, Livingstone, Haddington, Peebles,Galashiels etc, you’ll cover a given territory, providing care to patients in their own homes.

Our cars

You’ll be provided with a company car (or allowance) to bring your care directly to people’s homes.

We do need you to have a couple of things to get started in this role.Firstly, you’ll need to be registered as a member of the General Optical Council (keeping this up to date) and youmust have a full driving license. You’ll also need to be confident, passionate about providing the best customer service and be comfortable working by yourself and as part of a team.
