Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a supervisor for cleaning operations to oversee the domestic staff, ensuring duties are performed safely and to specified standards. You will train staff in correct cleaning methods, machinery use, and safety procedures, and manage timely PLB/appraisals and mandatory training compliance.

Working within a forward-thinking NHS Trust, you will contribute to maintaining high hygiene standards across designated hospital areas,

Qualifications

• Experience supervising cleaning or domestic staff in a hospital or large facility.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and material handling for cleaning tasks.
• Ability to plan and deliver training, monitor compliance and complete appraisals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cleaning methods and frequencies in designated areas to meet required standards.
• Ensure duties of domestic assistants are carried out safely and using correct procedures and materials.
• Train domestics to use machinery and cleaning methods; oversee PLB/appraisals for domestic staff.
• Ensure all mandatory training is completed on time.

Job description

To be responsible for the supervision of cleaning methods and frequencies in a designated area of the hospital, ensuring that the required standards are achieved. To supervise the domestic assistants, to ensure that their duties are carried out safely and using correct procedures and materials at frequencies laid down in the specification of work. Also the training of domestics to use machinery and the correct methods of cleaning. To ensure timely completion of PLB/appraisals for domestic staff. To ensure all mandatory training is completed on time.
