Job summary

Niyaa People is recruiting a Domestic Solar PV Electrician for a permanent role in Kent. You will install solar PV systems in domestic properties, set up battery storage and EV charging points, and perform general electrical installations across multiple sites.

The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a company van, fuel card, tools, PPE and excellent training from day one. NVQ 3, 18th Edition, DBS check and a UK driving licence are required; training is provided for solar-specific

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent required.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations expected.
• 2391 Inspection & Testing preferred; training available.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Good customer service and communication skills essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Solar PV experience is highly desirable; related renewables qualifications helpful.

Responsibilities

• Complete Solar PV installations in domestic properties.

Job description

Enjoy a permanent Domestic Solar PV Electrician role with a company van, fuel card, tools, PPE and excellent training opportunities provided from day one. Join a fast-growing renewable energy team working across Kent, completing domestic solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and general electrical installations.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You’ll be joining an expanding team with plenty of opportunity to develop within renewable technologies. Previous solar experience is highly desirable, but experienced electricians without solar experience will also be considered as full training can be provided.

I’d love to see CVs from anyone who has worked as a Domestic Solar PV Electrician, Electrician, Solar Electrician, Electrical Installer or Electrical Tester.

As a Domestic Solar PV Electrician, you will be:

• Completing Solar PV installations within residential properties
• Installing battery storage systems and EV charging points
• Carrying out general electrical installation work where required
• Ensuring installations meet the required quality and health and safety standards
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues before project handover
• Communicating with customers throughout installations
• Working closely with the office regarding materials and site requirements
• Completing relevant paperwork and installation documentation

I’d love to speak to anyone who has:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• 2391 Inspection & Testing preferred, although training can be provided
• A full UK driving licence
• The ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team
• Experience within Solar PV would be highly desirable
• Solar, battery storage, EV or relevant renewable energy qualifications would be advantageous
• City & Guilds Level 2 and 3 candidates may also be considered where they are willing to complete the required Lifelong Learning route

The Domestic Solar PV Electrician role is offering:

• Around £46,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications
• 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location & travel

This position is based from the Kent office and warehouse, with travel required to different sites across the region. Materials will generally be collected from the Kent base before travelling to site. Daily travel can be around 90 minutes, with occasional projects further afield requiring overnight stays. Working away can happen a couple of times per month, although candidates who are unable to regularly stay away can still be considered.
