Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is recruiting a Domestic Solar PV Electrician for a permanent role in Kent. The position involves installing solar PV systems, battery storage, and EV charging across residential properties, with a company van, fuel card, and tools provided.

Training is available from day one, and there is room to grow within renewable technologies. Ideal candidates have solar experience or are ready to train, with full UK driving licence and the ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• City & Guilds Level 2/3 candidates may be considered if willing to complete Lifelong Learning route.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations are required/advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Complete Solar PV installations in residential properties.
• Install battery storage systems and EV charging points.
• Carry out general electrical installation work as required.
• Ensure installations meet quality and health & safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues before handover.
• Communicate with customers during installations.
• Coordinate with the office on materials and site requirements.
• Complete installation documentation.

Job description

Enjoy a permanent Domestic Solar PV Electrician role with a company van, fuel card, tools, PPE and excellent training opportunities provided from day one. Join a fast-growing renewable energy team working across Kent, completing domestic solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and general electrical installations.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You'll be joining an expanding team with plenty of opportunity to develop within renewable technologies. Previous solar experience is highly desirable, but experienced electricians without solar experience will also be considered as full training can be provided.

I'd love to see CVs from anyone who has worked as a Domestic Solar PV Electrician, Electrician, Solar Electrician, Electrical Installer or Electrical Tester.

Responsibilities

• Completing Solar PV installations within residential properties
• Installing battery storage systems and EV charging points
• Carrying out general electrical installation work where required
• Ensuring installations meet the required quality and health and safety standards
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues before project handover
• Communicating with customers throughout installations
• Working closely with the office regarding materials and site requirements
• Completing relevant paperwork and installation documentation

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• 2391 Inspection & Testing preferred, although training can be provided
• A full UK driving licence
• The ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team
• Experience within Solar PV would be highly desirable
• Solar, battery storage, EV or relevant renewable energy qualifications would be advantageous
• City & Guilds Level 2 and 3 candidates may also be considered where they are willing to complete the required Lifelong Learning route

Compensation & Benefits

• Around £46,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications

Location & Travel

This position is based from the Kent office and warehouse, with travel required to different sites across the region. Materials will generally be collected from the Kent base before travelling to site. Daily travel can be around 90 minutes, with occasional projects further afield requiring overnight stays. Working away can happen a couple of times per month, although candidates who are unable to regularly stay away can still be considered.
