Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes in East and West Sussex is hiring for a Domestic and Laundry Supervisor. The role is hands-on and includes planning, implementing and supervising domestic tasks and supporting laundry operations within the home.

You will mentor staff, coordinate rotas, manage laundry duties and ensure high cleanliness standards across all resident areas. A compassionate, organized individual with care-home experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role.
• Able to communicate effectively.
• Experience in working as a domestic assistant or laundry assistant.
• Experience within Nursing/Residential Home.
• Knowledge of use of laundry equipment.
• COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
• Daily coordination and rotas of domestic staff making sure that the home is fully staffed with domestic staff, planning daily/monthly tasks.
• Mentor and lead domestic staff - including 4,8- and 12-week reviews.
• To clean, and check that, residents' rooms are thoroughly cleaned each day after nursing/care staff have completed their patient care.
• To check window nets, curtains and bathroom and bathroom area curtains daily, launder and replace curtain hooks as needed.
• To check store cupboards and order and rotate supplies to enable an adequate stock to be maintained.
