Job summary

Curaa Group is seeking a part-time Domestic/Laundry Assistant for Widford, Hertfordshire. You will handle laundry tasks, assist with linen delivery and room care, and support the care team to ensure clean and ready linens for residents.

The role involves cleaning and maintenance of laundry equipment, adherence to infection control guidelines, and contributing to a tidy, welcoming environment for residents and staff alike.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum rooms and corridors; manage waste disposal.
• Clean bathrooms, mirrors, furniture, and floors; control of infection policy.
• Maintain rooms to be odour free and report malfunctions.
• Adhere to COSHH and maintain confidentiality.

Job description

Domestic/Laundry Assistant - Widford - Hertfordshire / PART-TIME, See to all washing, drying and ironing of linens and residents' personal clothing, carrying out repairs when able and needed, keeping records and report of any damaged items.

• Sort and store dirty laundry into appropriate wash loads. And when ready, deliver, hang and store the linens and residents' clothes to their rooms, ensuring correct return of personal clothing is effective.
• Keep linen stocks and collaborate with the Care Team to ensure that the clean linen is ready for use as well as guarantee the soiled linen is handled efficiently and in line with infection control policy.
• Make sure that the laundry equipment is routinely cleaned and maintained in line with policy, and safely store and secure chemicals and cleaning products during and after use.
• Do the vacuuming of rooms and corridors, empty all waste bins and deal with waste bags and their prescribed disposal.
• Clean the glass, mirrors, furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
• Dust the cobwebs and mop floor surfaces.
• Clean bathrooms and toilets with particular attention to guidelines for the control of germs and infestation.
• Ensure the rooms are odour free.
• Report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that maintenance, and also cleaning materials that need replacing.
• Adhere and maintain Company Policy on Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) at all times.
• Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
