Curaa is seeking a Care Assistant (female preferred) in Stansted Mountfitchet, United Kingdom, to deliver high-quality personal care and support daily activities for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality personal care to each resident.
  • Help residents with daily activities including bathing, toilet, dressing, undressing, ensuring independence, dignity and respect.
  • Assist with eating for those who need support, in a relaxed, dignified setting.
  • Assist residents with mobility to attend activities and move to bedrooms on request.
  • Attend to continence care, hygiene, and clothing changes to keep residents comfortable and reduce skin issues.
  • Follow care plans, assist with turning/moving to reduce risk of pressure sores.
  • Keep bedroom areas tidy, change bed linen, and maintain clean facilities.
  • Clean and maintain equipment used for personal care (commodes, wheelchairs).
  • Practice safe moving and handling, observe health and safety and fire procedures.
  • Respect residents and visitors, uphold dignity, and contribute to a homely atmosphere.
  • Record interactions on care software and participate in staff meetings and training.
  • Build trusting relationships with relatives to support residents better.

The successful applicant will:

Deliver quality personal care to each of our residents.


Help the residents with daily activities including, bathing, taking people to the toilet, dressing and undressing, and ensuring optimum independence, dignity, and respect of all individuals who live here.


Encourage those that may have difficulty eating or swallowing, to enjoy their meal in a relaxed pleasant atmosphere, ensuring dignity and respect at all times .


Assist people with restricted mobility to move to other areas of the Home for social activities and stimulation and to the privacy of their bedrooms at their request.


Regularly attend to any of the people who may have reduced continence control, ensuring all personal hygiene needs are met. Toileting, changing continence pads, and removing wet or soiled clothing to ensure they remain comfortable and the risk of skin deterioration is reduced and monitored.


Carry out care activity in accordance with the care plan for less active people, particularly turning and moving to reduce the risk of development of pressure sores, as requested by the person in charge.


Ensure bedroom areas are kept tidy, pleasant and comfortable by making beds, regularly changing bed linen and emptying commodes and cleaning.


Be responsible for the regular cleaning of any equipment involved in the personal care of people the residents, including commodes and wheelchairs.


Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks and in particular moving and handling, by assessing risk and having due regard for personal safety and the safety of people who live here, visitors, and your colleagues.


Understand personal responsibilities with regards to Health and Safety at Work legislation, particularly in relation to moving and handling of people who live here and fire safety and evacuation procedures.


Act courteously towards the residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each person and ensuring they feel ‘At home’.


Contribute fully to the team, responding positively to colleagues and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly, and record interactions on the personal care software.


Take good care of items of equipment used to carry out tasks, including general cleanliness and advising on any faults or the need for maintenance or replacement.


Be responsible for the safe and tidy storage of supplies and equipment.


Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required


Develop relationships with relatives to help support residents better.
