Job summary

Buchan and London Recruitment is seeking an experienced Air Source Heat Pump Technical Surveyor & Designer to support a growing domestic ASHP business. Based in the Ipswich area, you will conduct property surveys, perform heat-loss calculations and produce detailed heating designs.

Ideal candidates will hold BPEC LT Hot Water Heating Systems Design qualifications or equivalent, have a solid heating engineering background, and be able to work independently while delivering precise documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic heat-pump surveying and system design.
• Strong knowledge of heat-loss calculations and low-temperature heating.
• Background in heating, plumbing or building services.
• Recognised qualifications covering heat-pump system design per MCS.
• Experience using heat-loss calculation and design software.
• Ability to work independently and produce organised documentation.
• Professional communication with homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Carry out technical surveys of domestic properties for ASHP installations.
• Complete room-by-room heat-loss calculations and heating designs.
• Specify equipment, emitters, hot-water systems and components.
• Identify installation requirements and constraints.
• Prepare survey reports, specifications and documentation.
• Provide technical advice and respond to design queries.
• Ensure designs meet standards and company procedures.
• Manage appointments and workloads to meet deadlines.
