Job summary

ClwydAlyn Housing Limited is recruiting a Domestic & Catering Assistant for Hafan Gwydir Extra Care Scheme in Llanrwst. This fixed-term contract (6 months) offers 14.25 hours per week at £13.45 per hour, helping residents enjoy a clean, welcoming home and positive dining experience.

You'll work as part of a friendly team, supporting cleanliness, food service and resident wellbeing in a community-minded role with social impact.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, domestic, hospitality or catering preferred.
• Good understanding of health and safety and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the scheme.
• Support infection prevention and hygiene standards.
• Assist with food preparation and meal service.
• Help maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
• Follow food safety, COSHH and health and safety procedures.
• Complete routine checks and records as required.
• Work collaboratively with scheme colleagues to provide a positive dining experience.
• Engage positively with residents, visitors and colleagues.
• Contribute to a welcoming, safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

About the Role

Our Extra Care schemes help people live independently in their own homes while having access to support when they need it. Food and community play an important role in helping residents feel connected and supported. For many residents, mealtimes are not just about enjoying good food but also about socialising and being part of their community.

As a Domestic & Catering Assistant, you'll support the smooth day-to-day running of Hafan Gwydir by helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food service. You'll assist with meal preparation, serving food and maintaining communal areas, helping to create a welcoming environment for residents, visitors and colleagues alike.

What You'll Bring

We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

• Previous experience in a cleaning, domestic, hospitality or catering role.
• An understanding of health and safety and COSHH requirements.
• Experience working as part of a team in a customer-focused environment.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training.
• Experience within a housing, care or support setting would be beneficial but is not essential.
