We are recruiting for Domestic Assistants to join our bank team at Oakleaves Care Centre.

Responsibilities of the Role
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness of the service and laundry, causing minimal disruption to our service users and their care.
  • Practice safe systems of work, e.g. moving & handling by assessing the risk and following best practice.
  • Use a variety of cleaning products, paying particular attention to COSHH regulated products.
  • Understand the cleaning requirements for different surfaces and equipment.
  • Communicate and engage effectively with our service users, their families and colleagues, reflecting good interpersonal and working relationship skills at all times.
  • Be Health and Safety aware to ensure the safety of our service users and colleagues. Understand your responsibilities under the Health & Safety and Fire Safety Acts.
  • Ensure the safe and tidy storage of supplies.
  • Report any faults with equipment, including requirements for maintenance or replacement.
General information
  • Participate in induction programme and in-service training.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings if required.
  • Adhere to and ensure safe practice according to Health and Safety policies.
  • Maintain client confidentiality; unwarranted breaches could result in disciplinary action.
  • Be fully aware of the fire policy and the awareness of food hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure you are familiar with all current policies and procedures and understand your duty to comply and implement them when necessary.
Essential Criteria
  • Basic knowledge of COSHH.
  • Knowledge of basic Health and Safety.
  • Infection prevention and control.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
