Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a dedicated Domestic Service staff member to provide cleaning across NHS premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment and adherence to infection control standards.

The role involves working Monday to Friday, 6am–3pm or 3pm–10pm, with a fixed-term contract for 12 months. Training and support will be provided to new staff, promoting teamwork and high standards of hygiene.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
• Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks.
• Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of cleaning tasks which require the use of machinery, equipment and cleaning appliances involving manual handling and lifting.
• To ensure all cleaning is undertaken to the required standards and report to supervisor any areas not cleaned due to access issues etc
• Utilise cleaning materials and agents in keeping with Health & Safety responsibilities and COSHH guidelines.
• Ensure the safety and consideration of patients, staff and visitors at all times whilst performing tasks.

The Role

Provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire, (NHSL) premises through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a 'safe' and welcoming environment and meet the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI )standards.

To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday Dayshift, any shift pattern between 6am to 3pm or Monday to Friday Backshift any shift between 3pm to 10pm, both shift patterns will depend on Service Delivery and wherever you are required to work.

Please note this is a fixed-term post for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
