Job summary

Heathlands Care Home in Chingford (Greater London) is seeking a Domestic Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents. The role focuses on cleaning rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, plus supporting laundry services.

You’ll follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure high standards of presentation and wellbeing for residents. We offer a competitive hourly rate of £12.71, a 37.5 hour week, paid DBS, pension and uniform, plus 5.6 weeks of annual leave

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Overview

Heathlands Care Home is a modern, purpose-built home in Chingford, offering high-quality nursing, dementia, palliative and short-term care for up to 84 residents. Set within private landscaped gardens, the home features spacious ensuite bedrooms across three floors, dedicated care teams, and a warm, homely atmosphere focused on dignity, comfort and personalised support.

Role Overview

As Domestic Assistant, you will play an essential role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports wellbeing, dignity and comfort. This is a hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will have a direct impact on daily life. You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. You will also support laundry services, helping to ensure personal belongings are handled with care and returned correctly. Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and cleaning procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in line with required standards. Your role will contribute to a well organised, respectful and comfortable environment for everyone.

Contract and Benefits

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
