Job summary

Henderson House Care Home in Dalgety Bay, Fife, is seeking a Domestic Assistant to join a welcoming team providing a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents. This role offers 40 hours per week on day shifts and supports the wellbeing and dignity of those in care.

You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, assist with laundry, and follow infection control procedures to maintain high hygiene standards. PVG, pension and uniform are provided.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry services and handle residents' belongings with care.
• Follow infection control and health and safety procedures at all times.
• Complete tasks safely and contribute to a well organised, respectful environment.
• Work as part of the wider team to maintain a clean and welcoming home.

Henderson House Care Home is a well established care home in the coastal town of Dalgety Bay in Fife, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 60 residents. With a strong, experienced team and a welcoming, homely atmosphere, this is a service where staff can feel supported, valued and confident in delivering high quality care within a stable and well run environment.

Domestic Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Domestic Assistant, you will play an essential role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports wellbeing, dignity and comfort. This is a hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will have a direct impact on daily life.
You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. You will also support laundry services, helping to ensure personal belongings are handled with care and returned correctly.
Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and cleaning procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in line with required standards. Your role will contribute to a well organised, respectful and comfortable environment for everyone.
