Job summary

Exemplar Health Care invites applications for a Domestic Assistant at Primrose Place in Coalville. You will help keep the home clean and welcoming, handling daily cleaning tasks across bedrooms, lounges, kitchens, bathrooms and offices, with support for laundry and general upkeep.

This role is part-time with a 20-hour week, and pays up to £12.71 per hour. The role offers induction, buddy support and ongoing training to help you settle in and grow within a brand-new care home.

Qualifications

• Experience in care is not required but an eye for detail and a tidy approach are essential.
• Induction, buddy system and ongoing training are provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily and weekly cleaning routines, plus ad-hoc duties.
• Clean and tidy designated areas around the home (bedrooms, lounges, kitchens, bathrooms, offices).
• Dust, mop, polish and vacuum; use carpet cleaning machines.
• Assist with laundry washing and drying as needed.
• Report breakages, damage, defects and hazards.
• Promote dignity, independence and a caring environment.

About the role

As a Domestic Assistant you will ensure our home maintains a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene to help create a comfortable living space for the people we support.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• carrying out all daily and weeklycleaning routines, as well as ad-hoc duties
• cleaning and tidying designated areas around the home including bedrooms, lounges, kitchens, bathrooms, kitchens and offices
• cleaning duties including dusting, mopping, polishing and vacuuming
• using equipment such as carpet cleaning machines
• supporting with washing and drying laundry, as required
• reporting breakages, damage, defects and hazards
• building trust and promoting choice, dignity and independence.
