Job summary

Dounemount Care Home is seeking a Domestic Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents. You will clean rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high hygiene standards and assist with laundry, ensuring belongings are handled with care.

Working closely with the team, you’ll follow infection control procedures and safety guidelines to support wellbeing and comfort for residents, with flexible part-time hours available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ability to follow infection control procedures.
• Willingness to work as part of a team or independently.
• Experience in care settings is welcome but not essential.

Our care home, located on the outskirts of Macduff, offers excellent Residential, Dementia, Nursing & Respite care for 34-residents, ensuring top-quality support in a tranquil setting

Domestic Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 12 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Domestic Assistant, you will play an essential role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports wellbeing, dignity and comfort. This is a hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will have a direct impact on daily life.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. You will also support laundry services, helping to ensure personal belongings are handled with care and returned correctly.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and cleaning procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in line with required standards. Your role will contribute to a well organised, respectful and comfortable environment for everyone.
