Job summary

Buchanan House Care Home, part of Belsize Healthcare, is hiring a Domestic Assistant on a 40-hour week contract at £12.71 per hour.

You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, assist with laundry, and ensure high hygiene and safety standards.

The role includes paid PVG checks, pension, uniform provided, and 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach with a can-do attitude.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills with residents and colleagues.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous care experience is welcome but not required.

Role Overview

As Domestic Assistant, you will play an essential role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports wellbeing, dignity and comfort. This is a hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will have a direct impact on daily life.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. You will also support laundry services, helping to ensure personal belongings are handled with care and returned correctly.

Working closely with the wider team, you follow infection control, health and safety and cleaning procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in line with required standards. Your role will contribute to a well organised, respectful and comfortable environment for everyone.
