A key aspect of the role will be coordinating document control activities across projects, maintaining effective revision control, and building and distributing Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs) in line with production requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Document Controller looking to join a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment and make an immediate impact.
Document Control

  • Manage document workflows, ensuring documentation is reviewed, approved, and distributed in line with company and client procedures.
  • Coordinate approval processes for drawings, change notices (CNs), technical queries (TQs), and revised documentation.
  • Issue approved documentation to clients and maintain robust revision control.
  • Monitor document submissions and ensure timely close-out of project documentation.
  • Follow client document management procedures, including the use of external document management systems and portals.
  • Maintain an accurate Master Document Register (MDR) containing all project documentation issued and received.
  • Archive project and business documentation for future reference and compliance purposes.
Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs)
  • Build and compile Manufacturing Record Books in line with production schedules.
  • Ensure all supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with client requirements.
  • Distribute completed Manufacturing Record Books to clients on behalf of the business.
Stakeholder Support
  • Work closely with project teams, quality, production, engineering, clients, and suppliers to ensure documentation is processed efficiently.
  • Review internal and external documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare document status reports and provide updates on documentation progress.
  • Support the Quality Department with administrative activities as required.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to ensure documentation requirements are understood and met.
About You
  • Previous experience in a Document Control or Quality Management position.
  • Experience compiling and managing Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs).
  • Strong knowledge of document control processes, revision control, and document management systems.
  • Proficiency in document management software such as Aconex, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, renewables, offshore wind, oil and gas, or related industries.
  • Experience working within a regulated quality environment.
  • Knowledge of project documentation and quality assurance processes.
What You'll Bring
You will be a proactive and highly organised professional who takes pride in maintaining accurate records and ensuring documentation is controlled to the highest standards. You will enjoy working collaboratively across departments and be confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
  • Adhere to all company Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Promote safe and environmentally responsible working practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality, safety, and environmental performance.
  • Help maintain high standards of housekeeping, compliance, and operational excellence.
