Job description

We are a leading concrete frame subcontractor specialising in delivering high-quality, innovative construction projects in the Birmingham area and London. The Role

As a Document Controller, you will ensure that all key contract documentation is handled effectively within the project and that a good level of information distribution is maintained throughout the entire project cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Record the issue, status, and location of all controlled documentation, including drawings;
  2. Facilitate the setup and operation of information management systems effectively;
  3. Liaise with the project management team to identify priorities and the appropriate treatment of incoming and outgoing information;
  4. Continuously update and maintain the accuracy of information;
  5. Maintain accurate records of the receipt and issue of transmittals;
  6. Ensure compliance with quality assurance requirements;
  7. Validate the currency of controlled documents for the construction team;
  8. Ensure awareness of environmental issues within the construction environment and adhere to the Environmental Manual policy and objectives;
  9. Maintain awareness of Occupational Health and Safety issues within the construction environment and follow Byrne Group OH&S policy and objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. At least 3 years of experience; educated to GCSE level preferred;
  2. Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry;
  3. Logical, well-organized, and detail-oriented;
  4. Numerate, literate, and accurate;
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  6. Knowledge of Document Management Systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word);
  7. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
