Role Overview:
As aDocument Controller, you will be responsible for managing, distributing, and controlling all project-related documents and information across the company’s high-rise developments. Working closely with project managers, architects, consultants, and contractors, you will ensure efficient and compliant document handling throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the document control system, ensuring all project documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and securely stored.
- Control and track the distribution of documents between internal teams and external stakeholders (consultants, contractors, suppliers).
- Upload and manage documents using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), such as Aconex, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
- Ensure version control and compliance with document control protocols across all projects.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining project filing systems (both digital and hard copy, if applicable).
- Support teams in retrieving information, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of document control systems to ensure integrity and consistency.
- Collaborate with the project team to manage approvals, drawings, specifications, and contract-related documentation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Document Controller or similar administrative role within the construction or property development sector.
- Familiarity with document control standards and best practices in the UK construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of document management software (e.g., Procure, Viewpoint, Asite, or similar platforms).
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desirable:
- Experience on high-rise residential or commercial construction projects.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) processes and protocols.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
