Job summary

A leading provider of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) solutions is seeking a proactive Document Controller to manage documentation flow across two sites in Hounslow and Bracknell. The role involves ensuring compliance, supporting project efficiency, and maintaining accurate documentation using a digital management system. Ideal candidates will have experience in document control, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Job Description

Role Overview: We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Document Controller to support our project teams across two active sites – Hounslow and Bracknell. This site-based role will play a vital part in managing documentation flow, maintaining compliance, and supporting project efficiency. You will be working with a digital document management system similar to Procore, ensuring accurate control, distribution, and archiving of key project documents.

About the Company: Our client is a leading provider of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) solutions, delivering high-quality services across commercial, industrial, and residential projects. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and innovation, they are committed to excellence in everything they do.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and maintain project documentation using the designated digital platform
  2. Upload, track, and organise drawings, RFIs, submittals, specifications, and other records
  3. Ensure all documents meet project and industry standards prior to distribution
  4. Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure the smooth flow of information
  5. Maintain strict version control and archiving of superseded documents
  6. Provide on-site support at both locations (Dagenham and Tilbury) as needed
  7. Assist in preparing reports and document summaries
  8. Keep electronic and physical filing systems accurate and up to date for compliance and audits

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a document controller role, ideally within construction or MEP sectors
  • Familiarity with document control platforms (experience with Procore or similar is desirable)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Competent IT skills, including MS Office and document management software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Location: Site-based (alternating between Hounslow and Bracknell)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM start

Employment Type: Permanent or Contract (flexible based on candidate preference)

Willingness and ability to travel between both sites (located close to each other)
