Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC in Oxford is seeking an Executive Director, Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics, to lead the Oxford DMPK team and contribute to Global DMPK and Oxford Site leadership. You will shape strategy, coordinate scientists, and align activities across sites to advance Vertex programs.

The role requires a PhD with proven DMPK leadership, strong scientific vision, and the ability to manage complex multidisciplinary programs.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a DMPK team or function.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary R&D programs.
• Strong scientific vision for discovery and development.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strategy and vision for the Oxford DMPK team aligned with Global DMPK and Vertex R&D.
• Execute DMPK strategies to address ADME challenges in programs.
• Build and maintain collaborations with Medicinal Chemistry, Biology, Preclinical Safety, Clinical Pharmacology and others.
• Represent DMPK on discovery teams, at the Oxford site and Vertex governance bodies.
• Implement innovative technologies to enhance scientific impact and efficiency.
• Provide scientific and managerial leadership to prioritize and deliver key projects.
• Ensure DMPK regulatory documents and reports are completed for drug development.
