Lookers in the North East is seeking a commercially focused Division Assistant Accountant to support the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager in the daily financial operations across our Leeds, Darlington, and other North East sites.

The role involves analysing divisional financial performance, ensuring accuracy of transactions, and assisting with month-end close for allocated dealerships. 37.5 hours, Mon-Fri, salary £28,000–£32,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• A solid grasp of accounting disciplines and a track record in commercial finance.
• MS Excel proficiency and knowledge of dealer management systems.
• An accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is advantageous but not essential.

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 basic salary DOE

Hours: 37.5 (Monday-Friday 9-5pm)

We’re looking for commercially focused Division Assistant Accountants to support financial performance across our dealerships.

The Division Assistant Accountant will provide essential support to the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager in managing the daily financial operations of the Division. The focus of this position is to analyse the financial performance of the Division, ensure the accuracy and integrity of all transactional accounting and assist with the month-end close. The role holder will be responsible for allocated dealerships within division.

What you’ll bring:

• A good understanding of the relevant accounting disciplines.
• Track record of good performance in a commercial finance environment.
• An Accountancy qualification or working towards is advantageous, but not essential: ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent body).
• Expert proficiency in MS Excel and strong working knowledge of the Motor Industry and Dealer Management systems
