Lookers is seeking a Division Assistant Accountant to support financial performance across our Essex dealerships. Based at an Essex site, you will work with the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager to manage daily financial operations and analyse performance.

You will ensure the accuracy of transactions and assist with month-end close for allocated dealerships, contributing to improvements in reporting and controls. Experience in commercial finance and Excel is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting disciplines is required.
• Proven track record in a commercial finance environment.
• Accountancy qualification or progression (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) advantageous.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and knowledge of Motor Industry Dealer Management systems.

Division Assistant Accountant - Ford/Vauxhall

Location: Any Lookers Essex site (Chelmsford, Colchester, Braintree, Sudbury & South Woodham Ferrers)

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 basic salary DOE

Hours: 37.5 (Monday-Friday 9-5pm)

We're looking for commercially focused Division Assistant Accountants to support financial performance across our dealerships.

The Division Assistant Accountant will provide essential support to the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager in managing the daily financial operations of the Division. The focus of this position is to analyse the financial performance of the Division, ensure the accuracy and integrity of all transactional accounting and assist with the month-end close. The role holder will be responsible for allocated dealerships within division.

What you'll bring:

• A good understanding of the relevant accounting disciplines.
• Track record of good performance in a commercial finance environment.
• An Accountancy qualification or working towards is advantageous, but not essential: ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent body).
• Expert proficiency in MS Excel and strong working knowledge of the Motor Industry and Dealer Management systems
• Consistently demonstrates Lookers values.
